The towns in the Bidasoa region, offering over 2,000 beds in hotels, farmhouses and campsites are an ideal starting point from which to get to know many of the most interesting places in Guipuzcoa, Navarra and the French Basque Country, without having to travel too far, thanks to the region’s privileged location, near to towns and countryside that have been visited for many years.

Just 15 minutes away is San Sebastian, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe: and if you take the road going along the beautiful Basque coast from San Jean de Luz, in just 20 minutes you are in the French aristocratic town of Biarritz, with all its glamorous charm. Zarautz is just 25 minutes away and Bilbao with its Guggenheim museum just an hour and a quarter.
What is more, less than half an hour down the road are the romantic valleys of the north of Navarre, such as the Baztán valley, where the novelist Pío Baroja located many of his characters and where his house still stands today in Bera. And in less than an hour you can be in the inland valleys of the French Basque Country, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, where you can visit all sorts of different caves of geological interest.
