Through the parks of Irun

With its beautiful parks, gardens and promenades, Irun has more than 432,000 square metres of green areas. These spaces help to preserve biodiversity and favour contact with nature. Natural, open spaces where you can do sports, go for walks and socialise in the open air.

Mendibil Park:

With a surface area of almost 12,000 square metres, Mendibil Park is one of the most emblematic parks in the city. Located a short distance from the city’s Ensanche district, the park has a playground for children.

Sargia Park:

A few metres from San Juan Square in Irun, we find another of the city’s emblematic parks. With more than 7,000 square metres, it is located at the back of the Arbelaiz palace. It has a playground for children. The Uranzu pelota court is located at the lower border of the park.

Gain Gainean Park:

Located as a green link between the centre and the districts of Olaketa and Lapice, Gain Gainean is the largest green area in the town centre. With a sports area, a dog park and an integrated cycle lane, these 60,000 square metres of greenery are a perfect spot for open air activities… plus the views! This point of the city offers a wonderful panoramic view of Peñas de Aia and San Marcial mountains.

Pinar Park:

With almost 9,000 square metres of surface area, this park is located in the San Miguel-Anzarán district. It offers a renovated children’s playground and sports facilities. 

Soroxarta Park:

This versatile and wooded park offers 15,700 square metres of green space between the neighbourhoods of Anaka and Belaskoenea. A good spot to find nature, paths, children’s playgrounds and fitness equipment…

Baron de Oña Park:

The current Martindozenea hostel is located in this park of more than 6,500 square metres where you will find tables and benches to enjoy a beautiful day in good company. 

Alai Txoko Park:

Located opposite Baron de Oña Park, Alai Txoko Park occupies almost 18,000 square metres. It offers an open green space for the enjoyment of all citizens.
